eBay’s 2018 Spring Seller Update Recap In eBay’s recent Seller Update, they announced the new “product-based shopping experience”, along with some Return Policy updates, eBay Store subscription changes and fee updates. Here’s the recap:

  • eBay’s Product-Based Shopping Experience: Phase 1
For sellers, eBay’s product-based shopping experience simply means that specific product lines are now going to require the listing to include the product GTIN, like UPCs, EANs, ISBNs etc… in order to stay visible in search results come May. To see which products and brands are affected by this, checkout eBay’s Inventory Optimization information.
  • eBay Store Subscriptions & Fee Updates
In their latest update, eBay announced the new “Starter” and “Enterprise” eBay Store subscriptions are now available! Additionally, there are some subscription fee updates and a reminder that the new Stores Shopping Experience goes into effect this May.
  • Simplifying Returns on eBay
One of the best ways to get more first-time customers is by providing a good and simple return policy that makes the buyer feel safe and comfortable with their purchase. Starting this May, eBay will begin enforcing their Streamlined Return Policies. Then in June, sellers who offer free returns will be able to issue partial refunds and eBay said they’ll be there to protect your seller reputation from negative feedback.
