eBay UK Resolves Shopping Basket Glitch

Site apologizes for inconvenience.

For more than 40 minutes Thursday morning, shoppers on were unable to add items to their shopping baskets.

The cause was an issue with the site’s shopping basket, eBay reports. However, the problem has since been fixed, officials add.

According to eBay, users were reporting that when they clicked on the basket icon in the upper right corner, or clicked to add an item into their shopping baskets, they were directed to a page that would not display.

However, it was still possible for shoppers to make purchases during the glitch by going directly to a desired listing and clicking on the Buy It Now button, eBay adds.

eBay first posted about the problem at 11:09 a.m. GMT and apologized for the inconvenience. The issue was resolved by 11:50 a.m. GMT.
