Etsy Direct Checkout Available to U.S. Sellers

Feature will let buyers pay by credit card without leaving site.

Etsy sellers in the U.S. can now offer direct checkout, so buyers won’t have to leave the site to complete checkout with credit cards. Etsy Favorites to Show on Facebook

New feature allows users to automatically share favorite items.

A new feature on artisan marketplace Etsy allows shoppers to automatically post the items they like most on their Facebook Timelines. Etsy added this feature earlier this week, according to Laura Hood, Etsy’s product marketing manager, in a blog post. Etsy’s FAQs note that when the feature is enabled, every time a user “favorites” an item he or she sees on Etsy, that item will automatically appear on his or her Facebook Timeline and in friends’ newsfeeds. Etsy’s April Sales Spring Up 68%

Year-over-year totals reflect the site's surge in popularity.

Etsy reports that $63.6 million worth of goods were sold on the site in April, a 67.9-percent increase from April 2011. Month-to-month sales growth was not as impressive—up just 1.1 percent from March—but measured against a lower number of items sold than in March, the total suggests that Etsy sellers are seeing higher average selling prices. Etsy Prepares for International Expansion
