Marketplace Fairness Act pushes on, will be brought to Senate floor.
eBay is asking its users to tell Congress they don’t want an online sales tax. In a letter sent to users on Sunday, eBay President and CEO John Donahoe encourages customers to join the marketplace in telling Congress “No” to the Marketplace Fairness Act, which would force some online merchants to collect and pay sales tax on the items they sell. More eBay sales, an increase in the number of PayPal accounts and more mobile shoppers helped eBay Inc.’s revenue grew by double digits during this year’s first quarter. eBay posted a 14-percent year-over-year increase, with its revenue reaching $3.7 billion, officials announced on Wednesday. Officials say issue has been resolved.
A software issue that removed thousands of eBay listings on Wednesday has been resolved. The glitch impacted about 10,000 total merchants in the United States, Germany, United Kingdom and Australia, removing their listings from the site, according to a post in eBay’s General Announcements. Read More
