eBay sellers will have the chance to sail to Mexico, mingle with fellow merchants and learn how to grow their businesses next year thanks to a new eBay seller education event.
The SeaBay Cruise sets sail on Feb. 8, and registration is now open, say event organizers Stephanie Inge, the founder of The Dallas eBaybes & eMales, and Joyce Banbury, the organizer of the annual Kansas Jubilee eBay conference.
The five-day cruise, which is not sponsored by eBay, departs from New Orleans and will sail to Cozumel and Progreso, Mexico, in the Yucatan.
The trip will feature two workshop days from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. focused on building and scaling an eBay business, and on how to expand beyond the marketplace. John “ColderIce” Lawson, an ecommerce “rock star,” will be the event’s keynote speaker, Banbury reports.
Tickets start at $339 per person. So far about 70 people have signed up, and officials are expecting a minimum of 150 attendees.
“People were so excited for the [event that the] first round of cabins were nearly filled in a couple of weeks,” she says.
The February departure date will allow merchants to have a good time “away from their eBay/ online business and to build scaling plans for the future,” Banbury adds. “Plus, it allows some of us to get away from the winter cold weather.”
