eBay is expanding its same-day delivery service to San Jose after offering it in San Francisco and New York City.
Officials made the announcement on Thursday, noting that eBay Now, an app that allows buyers to purchase items from hundreds of stores and have them delivered in about an hour, is now available to shoppers in San Jose.
Participating stores include Babies R Us, Best Buy, Free People, Macy’s, Target, Walgreens and others.
eBay Now first launched in San Francisco last year and then expanded to buyers in New York City, according to news reports. The service carries a $5 delivery charge and is available for items that cost at least $25. However, it seems that when shoppers buy with eBay Now, they can have almost anything delivered.
“We can deliver almost any products shown on the app—basically those that fit inside of a car,” state the FAQs for the app. “This includes items like most flat-screen TVs up to 42 inches in size.”
eBay Now aims to make returns easy on buyers, too. When shoppers want to return an item they bought through eBay Now, one of eBay’s valets will pick up the item and return it for them free of charge. However, eBay adds items bought through eBay Now cannot be returned at stores where the items were purchased.
eBay Now services are available Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., and from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sundays.
