Sports merchandise sellers, and football fans in general, will have the chance to bid on sports memorabilia signed by NFL Hall of Fame coach Marv Levy when he hosts a live auction on Outbid.
The Gridiron Greats Charity Auction starts at 4 p.m. PT on Monday and features several items, like an autographed clipboard similar to the ones Levy used when he coached the Kansas City Chiefs and Buffalo Bills, copies of his book, “Between the Lines,” a plaque featuring Ralph Wilson Stadium where the Bills play, several autographed footballs and an autographed photo of Levy.
Levy is the only coach to take a team to four consecutive Super Bowls, according to Outbid, an eBay alternative auction site. But buyers won’t just be able to buy items during the event. They’ll also be able to interact with the coach and ask him questions, like they can interact with any Outbid auction host.
Dan Granger, Outbid’s CEO, says the company is excited to have Levy host the auction.
“Outbid was already upping the ante in ecommerce and online auctions, but events like the Marv Levy Gridiron Greats Charity Auction takes it to a new level for sports enthusiasts interested in getting great collectibles and actually interacting with such luminaries,” he adds.
Proceeds from the event go to the Gridiron Greats Assistance Fund, a nonprofit organization that provides financial grants and medical assistance to retired NFL players.
Levy says he’s happy to be part of the charity auction.
“Outbid is the fun, creative, new way for sports lovers to get their hands on great collectibles, a wonderful tool for charity organizations to raise money and another means for me to connect with fans in a lively, infectious setting,” he adds. “I love that Outbid auctions play out like a sporting event.”
