iwoca Hosts Online Sellers Meetup in UK

Event will offer advice, let sellers meet their peers.

Editor’s note: The date of the U.K. Online Seller Meetup has been corrected in this article.

Online sellers in the U.K. will have the chance to meet other sellers, face to face, learn from them and get expert insights at a meetup event in October.

iwoca, a company that provides small-business financing to online sellers, will host the meetup for merchants selling on eBay, Amazon, Etsy, Play.com or their own online store. The meetup will take place on Oct. 10 at 6 p.m. in Birmingham, a city in England’s West Midlands, says Alycia Wilson, the company’s head of marketing. This will be the third meetup iwoca has held this year.

Wilson notes that the idea for the meetups came about because sellers told the company they wanted to meet other online merchants in person, in a casual environment.

“As most online sellers are stuck behind a computer all day, this event gives them an opportunity to network with their peers,” she adds.

The event is geared toward established online sellers, but people who are just thinking about starting their own online business are also welcome, Wilson continues. She adds that the atmosphere is informal, and sellers will learn about multi-channel management and eBay template design at the October event.

“Everyone loves it. It beats being in a stuffy conference room,” she adds. “The U.K. Online Seller Meetup is very much about building a community of online sellers where they can continue to support one another.”

Sellers can register for the event on The UK Online Seller Meetup Group.
