Bonanza to Celebrate Christmas in July

Community event offers fun for sellers, more sales.

As the days heat up, Bonanza sellers are getting into the holiday spirit with the third annual Christmas in July sale—an event meant to foster camaraderie among merchants and increase sales.

During the Christmas in July promotion, participating sellers fill their booths with holiday items for the month of July and mark down their items 10 percent to 50 percent. Merchants can also participate in Secret Santa gift exchanges, block parties that will feature additional discounts, prizes and games, and a video contest, according to Mark Dorsey, co-founder of Bonanza, who adds that the annual event is organized independently by the Bonanza community.

Sellers can sign up here to be part of the Christmas in July promotion until June 28. Last year, hundreds of booths participated and had lots of sales, event organizers report.

“Not only is this a nice opportunity for additional sales, but the networking you will get can pay dividends long after July is over,” Dorsey tells sellers in a post on the Bonanza blog.

Members seem ready for the event to kick off.

“Christmas in July is so much fun, and it looks like it’s going to be spectacular this year,” writes gramagrama, who is in charge of the Secret Santa Promotion.

Sustahquheen adds that she is looking forward to the event. “Last year, between all five booths, my sales tripled and almost doubled in August,” she reports.

During the event, sellers are encouraged to use the hashtag XmasInJuly to promote the event.
