eBay’s VP of Seller Experience Departs

Merchant Development exec to take over duties.

After 12 years at eBay, Todd Lutwak, vice president of Seller Experience, has left the company, an eBay official confirmed on Wednesday.

Lutwak has joined Andreessen Horowitz, a venture capital firm headquartered in Menlo Park, CA. With his departure, Michael Jones, eBay’s vice president of Merchant Development, will take on Lutwak’s previous responsibilities, according to Johnna Hoff, an eBay spokeswoman.

Hoff did not say when Lutwak officially left eBay, but notes that eBay officials wish him the best in his career.

“In 12 years at eBay, Todd brought a real passion about the business, an intuitive understanding of our customers—both buyers and sellers—and a genuine love of eBay,” she notes. “While we will miss him here, we know he’ll be welcomed into the next phase of his career.”

Lutwak had nothing but good things to say about his time at eBay and had been thinking of joining a new company for some time, according to news reports.

Lutwak’s departure became public two months after Scott Thompson, former president of eBay subsidiary PayPal, left to become CEO of Yahoo. Last November, eBay lost another high ranking official when Dinesh Lathi, vice president of Seller and Buyer Experience, joined One Kings Lane as chief financial officer.
