Ubokia Wants to be eBay, Craigslist Alternative

Want-based marketplace lets sellers find qualified buyers for their items.

An e-commerce startup has opened a markeplace designed to easily match sellers with qualified buyers.

Ubokia, based in San Francisco, describes its uMatch marketplace as Craigslist in reverse. uMatch lets buyers post what they want to buy, and have sellers respond to them with offers, and even update their inventory based on changing demand, as it happens.

Sellers can post items for sale, including photos, geographic location and as much detail as they like, the site explains. Then they can view matching Wants and instantaneously find qualified buyers, or wait to be contacted by buyers who want what they have.

Communication between buyers and sellers takes place through the website, instead of personal email accounts.

Available categories include motors, vacation rentals, fashion, home and garden, gadgets and sports gear.
